I'm so proud to have finished my 20-sentence-long-graded korean essay...

Hopefully can score on that 10%. Yawns. Damn tired..

Shall leave the translation till I have the time... Good nitez!

Yesterday was the last NIE band practice for GE students before we take a break for the semestral exams. Assesement's on 27th Nov, I'm so not prepared.. Gosh..

Anyway, band practice will resume on the 28th Nov to prepare for the concert on the 27th Decemeber. I will miss playing in band after that. I might probably continue playing in the band except that I wont take it as an elective module next time round. Haha. I just wanna enjoy the fun of it. Having to take it for assessment and grading is stressful. I think it's hard to get A. Hopefully I'll get at least a B/B+. Hehe.

Studied with friends at SPMS building today. I've been having vegetarian food for lunch everyday, so Wee Jian bought us fast food from JP and I had my KFC! Lol.

Hmm, wasn't VERY productive but thanks to Ms Hui's teaching. I finally understand MO theory. Haha. At least the trip to school was fruitful afterall.

We left school at bout 730pm and I waited 20+ mins for the internal chartered bus which I later realised was no longer in service at that hour. And so I ended up feeding mosquitoes while I waited for a cab. There was practically no other human being in sight (probably cux Canteen B was closed). Not sure about other kind of beings lah... For a moment I started thinking what I should do if some b*n*l*h ran towards me and attack me. Haha. I realised I really wont know what to do man.

Run? My calf was experiencing cramp the night b4 and was still hurting. Fight back? Haven eat dinner.. no strength. Scream? No one was in the proximity. Haha. But luckily this is Singapore.. a cab finally appeared in sight and it cost me $4.35 to cab from South Spine to Canteen 2 to pack my dinner. Quite dumb lah, but if I were to walk there, I dunno how long I would have taken man, somemore my calf was still hurting, can't walk fast..

My photo's in museum!

It's been nearly 2 mths since I last cuaght a movie and I feel so contented to have watched a nice one yesterday!

It was my free day so I studied in school with the CBC clique, after which I went for dinner with Angeline at JP and we watched the movie "Butterfly Lovers". It's sort of a remake of the original 梁祝, very old movie. What can I say? I love it!

Other than the major plus factor that the male and female lead are really eye candies, the storyline is just so enjoyable and full of twist. There's a combination of comedy, action, romance and heart-wrenching scenes. Although it's true that the plot is abit jokerish and exaggerated at times, but that's the whole point I guess, to make it a light-hearted yet touching romance comedy.

The original "Butterfly Lovers'' depicts the story of the female lead pretending to be a guy to attend some scholar classes, but in this remake, the female lead attended some martial arts school instead. I think the idea is fresh and online ratings shouldnt give just 2 stars rating for that. If they're expecting a plot similar to the original 梁祝, then might as well don't remake the movie right. It'd be pointless just replacing the casts but with the same old storyline, no twist at all le.

I can't deny that Wu Zhun's taiwanese accent does indeed seemed abit off in this kinda 古装 show. The way he speaks is just abit too fast and too...... taiwanese-idol-drama-like. But other than that both Charlene and Wu Zhun acted well in their facial expressions. And there's the 马大哥!Omg.. 2 shuai guys acting in it. Melts my heart.. LOL! Even though 马大哥 is acting as the bad guy role, but his love for 祝言之 is well depicted. Quite touching actually..

I wouldn't mind watching the movie again man.. but of cuz I don't have the free time to do so lah. Shall get the DVD or watch again on cableTV next time! Haha.. I'll definitely recommend this movie to my friends, but maybe not for the jiak gan dang people out there lah. They won't have that kind of sense of humour and probably wont be interested anyway.

Ok, coming up next week....

Inorganic Chemistry test 2, Korean test 2, Korean essay, Korean listening test, Korean oral test... =S

I just came back from band practice. I could say it's a fruitful session today cuz we played quite a few pieces and I really enjoyed myself. Life's good when you start appreciating everything that's happening. =D

It's hall 8 supper hop tonight! Whereby the eighters travel from place to place for supper at different locations. I heard the places are mostly in the east this yr, places like simpang bedok, bedok 85, geylang etc. Food! but well, didn't join them since I had to attend band. Heard that not many people are going anyway, so ... not very gian. Haha.

It's been a fine day today except for the fact that I was actually 3hours late for Lab work.
3 hours! No joke. I'm really immuned to my alarm clock liao la.. I remember snooz-ing my hp and alarm clock, but I didn't realised that it was already 11.30am until roomie shouted my name upon knowing I was late. But thanks to my dear friends who offered me a portion of their yield so at least I had something to hand in, though I'm still worried bout my attendance not being taken.

But you know wad, it's nice to know that my friends are sweet enough to call me when I did not turn up for lab in the morning. A total of 18 missed calls.. Nice leh.. ^^

Hehe, it's gonna be a busy weekend. Organic Midterm test 2 on Monday!
If i fail again this time, I no hope le...

Back in hall again...

Weekend was spent quite meaningfully, mainly with my family. Tuition didi on Sat and went out with family for dinner + shopping at night.

Went swimming with Mummy and didi on Sunday morning. I nv knew I could be so willing to wake up early at 7am plus just to go swimming. Haha! Though was tired after that and ended up napping and TV-ing for the rest of the day instead of studying. But at least I've done some exercises. My spine needed it...

Yawns..

It's home sweet home now!

Papa came to fetch me after band practice and gave a ride to a few other hall mates who are staying in Tampines too. After dropping them off, we went to Kembangan for supper!
I super love supper with my family. It's an opportunity to catch up on things that happened over the week, esp when I'm staying in hall not at home. Haha. Bonding!

...

It's been a long day today. But I shall gladly announced that this is the very 1st time I completed IR analysis on the actual day of the experiment itself. LOL. This may sound dumb but I always have to go back to lab again on the following Wednesday(even though it's my free day) to finish up IR analysis, because I usually do not have enough time to queue for the IR machine by the time I obtained my experimental product. However, I'm like forever so clumsy. I broke three things today! Broke a small pipette, a test tube and a drying dish cover..meaning marks deducted on lab behaviour liao loh.. I'm a lab hazard!

Band practice was fine! The song played are quite nice and finally not so tough pieces, except for Star Wars. So many odd rythmn..especially when flute's part isn't the melody. I hate the song man... And I realised that flute section is one of the slackest section. When it was time for sectionals, I could hear all other sections practising the pieces together as a section. Yet, it was like free and easy + resting time for the flute section. LOL.

Ok.. I'm feeling the effects from my lack of sleep after rushing my lab report till damn late last night. Shall dig into my lovely bed soon.

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Good night! ^^

Thursday's a late day at school!

I've just had my dinner after I came back from the crime & punishment lecture, which supposedly ends at 8.30pm. The lecturer really speaks like a machine gun. Trust me on that. I don't remember having a moment of peace and silence, xcept' for during the 12mins break. yeah.. don ask me y, but 12mins.. haha.. weird timing right.

I woke up at 11.30am this morning and went to school for lunch with the CBC ppl before attending tutorial.

Korean listening test 2 was so SO much easier than test 1. Test 1 was basically dictation, we had to write down exactly the conversation which was spoken in the recording. If you never study, means most of the words can't write or maybe don't even understand what they're talking about. So after the 1st test, I learnt my lesson and studied hard for this 2nd one. YET! the 2nd test was entirely MCQ! Grr.... no dictation at all. -_-" I feel like I've prepared for nothing cux everyone's sure gonna score high.

After the korean class, Mie Lin called and told me they were queuing to get back Organic Chem test 1. The point is......we have to get back our own paper from the professor PERSONALLY! Like one-to-one you know!?! I was so horrified. My initial though was to run away, just don't bother getting back the paper cux' I knew I flung the test badly. I know it.
But no choice lah, I guess I had to go. Just in case he call out my name during lecture just to return me. That would be worst x1000000 lah! But as expected, my score is just slightly more than a single digit, out of 100 marks.

Prof asked if I did studied for it, gave me advices and told me I need to work alot alot more harder. He's reaction was better than I'd expected. I tot he would shout at me instead or discourage me etc. I'm glad that he didn't.... And I also know I really need to work harder. =(

Only 34 more days to exams! Ok, I'm not the one doing the countdown, I just got it off my coursemate's msn nick. LOL. So, anyway, exams are just round the corner and yet there are like endless tests and assignments coming up the next few weeks. I need more time!

I feel so deprived of real entertainment.. movies, shopping, TV!, swimming, etc etc... -.-

What I'm gonna do now, is to really try and have a quick shower, and get down to doing my lab report before tml's lab... zZzz..

Sleeping early does indeed make one feel better and more energetic the next day. Last night I slept at 2am, (it IS considered early for hall life) and woke up at 10am this morning to have breakfast with Angeline before she went for lesson while I camped in my room to study.

Yeah, as usual, Wed is my free day. Although I didn't finish my previous lab experiment on last Fri, but I didn't feel like going back to lab since I couldn't do IR analysis without my compound. The experiment is a failure!

So anyway, stayed in my room to study for Inorganic test which is next Monday and to prepare for my 한국어 듣기 시험 tml!!! No joke, it IS POSSIBLE to prepare for a language listening test. Hais. I dun wanna screw up again..

Attended the very first DnD main comm meeting after dinner and decided on the theme for next year's DnD. It's gonna be "Villian".. Hmm.. -.- not sure whether it will change again but more or less confirmed. It's a interesting theme but I predict the girls are gonna crack their brains on deciding how to dressed to the theme.

OK. Back to studying for the korean test... JY!

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

I skipped all my lectures today and went studying with my friends instead.

We found a cozy little study corner at the sch of MAS and spent the whole afternoon there. Despite so, I felt it wasn't a very fruitful day since I didn't learn much things. There're just some topics that we find it hard to study. The notes are too simplified but the text book is way too wordy! Yes... I'm talking about Chemistry.. My favourite...............

Well, Korean listening test coming up on this Thursday and I certainly hope I won't screw it up again like I did for the 1st test! 10%!!! Following will be Inorganic Chem test II next Monday and Crime & Punishment test next Thurs. Haiz.. Hopefully after the tests we'll be able to go for a shopping trip! Haha! I need some retail therapy!

Back at hall, there was a super belated celebration for the Mid-Autumn Festival just now, combined with Art & Cultural group introduction programme. Seriously, I dun understand why they are still celebrating mid-autumn festival when the actual date has already passed like more than 2 weeks ago?????? Even the moon has become half-moon! But I'm glad that at least the performances by the Sing & Strum and Jam Band are enjoyable. =D

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY to Mie Lin!

It was Mie Lin's birthday yesterday and so today, we had a mini belated celebration over dinner at JP's Pizza Hut.

It was a typical meal yet I find it really enjoyable. It's the company that matters! =D

The service at this Pizza Hut outlet is great. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Upon knowing we are going to celebrate friend's bday, they offered to set the ambience by dimming the light while they brought out the lighted cake as a surprise for her, and they even played the birthday song. Haha. It was really nice.

Mie Lin with her Bday Cake...er muffin! Hehe..

Classic.

Birthday girl feeding me!

Me & Hui Shan

Charis & I!

(hopefully she wont kill me for posting our 丑照!)

We went to the arcade after dinner and played DAYTONA! Just nice.... 8 of us people, fits nicely into the 8 cars... and I came in 2nd!!!! Hahaha! I can't believe I trashed 2 of the guys. =X

And we also played this Jap drumming game, cute but difficult to play well. Haha.

I was eyeing this piece of "bread plushie" in one of the giap-giap machine! But didn't try my luck though cux I thought the chance of getting it is super slim. Haha. I still think of it now.. cux it's so cute!

Anyway, we decided not to go home yet, so we ended up buying alcohol from 7-11 and went drinking at the park near MieLin's house and HTHT! Haha!

I'm still feeling the effects of alcohol now though I drink very little, but I guess it's cux I was already tired to begin with. Don't think I'll be studying anything at all so shall sleep soon. =D

Sunday, October 5, 2008

It's been a peaceful weekend which seemed to have passed so quickly in a blink of the eye.

I tried to study, though most of the the time I eventually get distracted by the comfort of home.

But now... I realised that the saddest thing and the most worrying thing is not when I have to force myself to study. It's when I couldn't understand anything despite studying...

My blog has been rotting for a month now!

So many things had happen yet so little time to keep track of them. I feel like I'm always busy over nothing and yet everything. Furthermore, with facebook now, it's much more easier to upload the pictures than to blog. Pictures speak a thousand words, don't they? LOL! But of course, the 亲切感 is there when you read a blog instead of just pictures.

Well, just an update for friends who hasn't seen me for a few hundred years and miraculously are STILL reading this rotting blog of mine, nothing much has changed. Except for the fact that I've cut my hair into a shorter length (yes, I DID), I became shorter (I dunno why =[ ) and I've darker eye rings for now.

Year 2 workload is definitely heavier and TOUGHER. Very dry and technical indeed. I'm really struggling cux I didn't have a good foundatio of my organic chemistry in Year 1. Yada yada, for those who think that organic chem is fun and easy to study, it IS so up till JC level. Now? I dunno why I'm even attending lecture for when I can't even catch up with everything that the lecturer is teaching. Might as well self study and self meditate at hall/home right? OTOT.

Ok, to be fair, not everyone in CBC is that cham lah. Just that I'm a big procrastinator and I always don't feel the drive to get my chemistry right. 40 more days to doomsday! Not that I enjoy counting down to exams, I just took it off my friend's msn nick. Haha. Time to work hard. It's now or never. I can't imagine my GPA going low low low... ='(

Hmm, I shall stop ranting before this entry gets long, dry and boring. It's true, how many people actually read blogs? As in really reading the post... most just look at the pictures.

So anyway, on Wednesday, it was supposed to be a few of the 8ofus celebrating Jiesi's 20th Bday. However, at the very last moment, thngs cropped up with the rest and it ended up being a Gf's day out.

We had lunch at Jack's Place and we actually sat there for 2 hour plus! No joke. There's just so much for us to catch up on. Many of our neighbouring tables had customers coming in later than us but finished up and left while we're still there. Haha.

Birthday gal with birthday cake! Finally hit the Big 2!

Make 20 wishes and blow out the candles!

After the meal, we walked around Marina Square and came across this machine with super cute catch inside! It's like you have to scoop up the doll doll and land them onto the platform, once it gets crowded up there, the doll doll will drop and... it's yours!

Sesame Street cuties!!!

I was aiming for the yellow "Big Bird" which just didn't fall off and I gave up on the 5th try. It's addictive and I had to control myself. Before that I was sorta exclaiming excitedly while playing it, and I actually didnt realise there was a crowd forming around the machine. LOL!

My cutie ELMO!

I got it on the 2nd try, lucky me eh? Haha!!!

I'm heading to bed soon... 6hrs of lab + 3hrs band practice tml. Or rather later...

It's gonna be a long day..
