Bonjour!

Just thought of re-activating this blog on the last min of the day that I turn 22!

Have taken a break too long from blogging ever since I return from exchange almost half a year ago. Last "study" semester in NTU has been well so far.. more than well actually.. been quite relaxing since I'm only doing 2 core modules and 3 other fun electives. I'll be doing FYP next semester in hope of pulling up my GPA further. Well.. as much as I would like to... just shun qi zhi ran ba.. I cant seem to force myself into being a real workaholic as I'm born to be a procrastinator.

Turning 21 last year had been a fabulous year for me. Was lucky enough to have my bf and best friend throwing me a surprise 21st bday party and invited all my close friends from pri up to uni level. Then I was also fortunate enough to be able to spend half a year in UK for my exchange, which was something I had never dreamt that could happen. I even had the thought of giving up the opportunity as I had never been so far away from home. I'm SO glad I went ahead cuz it's definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never ever forget (I hope I wont cuz my memory is so bad.. tt's why I've taken tons of pic as keepsake).

Had the chance to travel to 9 countries and 24 major cities and we even met with the volcanic ashes "disaster" from Iceland's volcanic eruption. It was insane! Fun, tiring and eventful. Learnt lots of things from travelling and it got me so addicted that one of my major goal now is to earn money and travel the world. I believe it's possible! =) How I miss european's weather.

It was also my first time going on a holiday with best friend. We went to Bangkok for a shopping spree and to sightsee but we would say that the trip is more of adventurous than relaxing. LOL. Lots of ppl trying to cheat our money in BKK. We need to look fiercer next time.

This last semester in school had been wonderful.. learnt french, learnt shakuhachi and also made new friends in food chemistry lab. Can't believe this last sem passed so quickly. In fact the whole year did!

I still find it hard to believe I've become 22 years old in a blink of an eye and I'm sure time from now on will zoom past even more quickly after I start to work in a mundane job. (hopefully not!)
No fanciful celebration this year since it's admist exam preparations and more imptly..cuz I'm sick. Been down with flu and sorethroat for a few days now. Blame it on the weather I guess. But I'm just happy enough to have a nice dinner with family and BF. Thx gf for meeting me too!

This diamond necklace was a 21st bday present from mummy and it had accompanied me for one whole year! (I've never worn anything for so long) I'm finally gonna take it down today.. feels kinda odd without it ard my neck though... Anyway.. Looking forward to working life! =D

It's been 2 weeks since I got back from UK and I'm adapting well back to singapore's horible weather and the poor attitude of the service industry. Of cuz I miss England alot, I'll always do.

I've been meeting and catching up with different groups of friends almost every other day, and also spending lots of time with family such that I haven't got the time to tidy my room yet.

It's girl's day out with Jas and Ade today... Supposedly a shopping trip but I successfully refrained myself from buying things even though there's just so many things I like! I've been jobless and living on my bank account eer since I got back from UK. Constantly in search for tuition jobs and many attempts to apply for available assignments failed. Feels so unwanted. Damn.

But anyway, this is the first time I'm actually not working at all during a holiday ever since I finished A levels, so it feels kinda nice just enjoying peaceful slow paced life, cherishing the company of my family and loved ones everyday. Afterall, they haven't seen me for half a year and my father would like to have me around. Haha.

Ade and I did some hair extension highlights today! It was our first attempt and feels interesting. Jas was too "guai" to have the extensions on her head... As she insist =.=

We had dinner at this very nice and authentic little
jap eatery in Far East Plaze level 5. I had beef don set and it was super filling! Very delicious too! Jas always give
good recommendation for dining! =D

Had so much fun with the girls today. Haji lane, Bugis and Far East Plaza! The clothes are so tempting!!! Control control! Please don't show me any nice online blogshop or such, I've quit my online shopping addiction long ago!!! ^_^

MJ. THIS IS IT

It's not one of those typical movie, yet it's one which revealed the hard work that MJ has put into preparing for his final concert. This movie featured the rehearsal of songs in sequence which he was supposed to be performing and I think that MJ's concert could have been really impressive. The loss of this King of Pop is such a pity.. He didn't look sick at all during his rehearsals.

I think the movie is worth watching. if u like MJ. I love his dance. The more popular songs like Billie Jean, Black or White, Thriller, Beat it etc are all featured in the movie. 2 hrs of MJ's song and cool moves, really enjoyable. But it actually left me feeling a tinge of sadness by the end of the movie cuz it feels like. This is it. MJ is really gone. Just like that. Life is so vulnerable for anyone.

Is a person's value always recognised only after he/she is gone forever?

JENNIFER'S BODY. As the title of the movie suggests, this filmis all about featuring Megan Fox's good figure and seductive look. I personally dont think she's super pretty. (why the big hooha over her??) She's just hot in her dressing. I would say it's more of a Chic-flick than horror film.

Caught it after lab with the clique at cathay cineleisure. Had been craving for a movie lately. I just cant wait for the movie 2012 to be screened. Bet it's gonna be as fantastic and panoramal as The day after Tomorrow which I've watched at least 5 times on cable tv & once in cinema.

Look out for Paranormal Activity... that seem to be quite a horrorifying movie. It was said to be comparable to the original Exorcist.

It's last day of practical today! It means the last day of me working in CBC lab if I'm going to UK next semester! which means I'll be doing organic chemistry over there.. I hope I can cope with it.

It's gonna be November soon! I'm waiting eagerly for a reply from UK. I haven't got my acceptance package!!!

Meanwhile final sem exams are approaching and my 1st paper is on 16th Nov. I better get myself out of the holiday mood and start studying soon. I NEED to!

It always seem like there's not enough time but I'm really not sure what they've been spent on. Probably the countless 21st birthday celebrations which flood my schedule almost bi/weekly; the nature of my timeable which ends late after 5.30pm everyday so by the time i reached home, am already too tired to study; the pain in my back and shoulder that I really hope will disappear soon; I NEED to curb my addiction for TV shows. CableTV is ruining my life. ok. less serious.

Anyway, we've finished the basic sign language course and this is good news so every wednesday I no longer have to stay back late till 10pm in school for the lesson. The lack of sleep is killing me. But I know many times, it all boils down tomy bad time management skills. again.

There's so much things I wanna do!!! I NEED 10 days per week.

Yet another weekend passed by and I've studied NOTHING AT ALL!

Went shopping for birthday gifts on Thurs & Friday and ended up with quite a number of unexpected shopping loots for myself instead.

Like I mentioned before, there's gonna be lots of September babies this month and it was Lynn's birthday party on Saturday!

The party was themed Lynn's School of Geeks so we'd dress up to look like students...of tootness, geek specs etc. The birthday cake was delicious, had a tinge of alcohol, though I don't really fancy its creaminess.

Some decorations at the party that made it school-like.

The birthday girl making a wish...

Childhood friends since primary school days!

Not much photos taken with my cam cuz lynn had some photographer frens to take the photos that night. Will be uploaded on FB soon I supposed. Party was great, food was great. Yet another friend who had turned 21!

Still not sure how I should celebrate mine. Throw a party or celebrate in small groups instead?

I love this photo!

UP Up and AWAY! Helium balloon makes me high! ^^

Happy 21st Birthday Adelene!

Yet another friend's bday in the month of September.
21st birthdays are making me so damn broke... But afterall, it's a once in a lifetime so enjoy it my dears.
We celebrated the actual day of her bday over dinner at Timbre with a hearty meal!
The portion was really good and we couldn't manage to finish the food even though we sat down as hungry cats.

Our mini beef burgers, and half-eaten roasted duck pizza & seafood platter!

Mini beef burger was my favourite!

Inspired by the Taiwanese drama Why why love?

Jas came up with a plan to help Ade find her "10th Guy". Initially we started counting the 10th single guy who walked into Timbre so Ade could go get his contact but plan failed.

So we changed the rules and got Ade to ask to take pictures with 10 stranger guys on the street. Even though she din managed to pick up the courage and ask for a contact, I bet this 21st bday incident would etch deeply in her memory. Hahah.

The underpass street musician sang her a Birthday song when we walked past..

Shots taken on Jas's polaroid.

Over 12 years of friendship... and still counting!

I don't think the girls do read this blog but I just wanna say:

Jas & Ade. I cherish our friendship. Really do! ^^

On friday, Dear & I also caught a movie marathon at GVmax, Vivocity.

My friends should know I love horror movies and of course I won't miss the Phobia 1 & 2 movie marathon!

It was $38/pax for a Thai buffet dinner + 2movies + a popcorn combo + complimentay entry pass to St James Powerstation!

The buffet dinner was catered by Hotel Rendezvous and it was not bad at all. I love the sweet and sour fish and the Thai tom yam crispy chicken!

A short dance segment and lucky draw was conducted by Shan & Ros before the start of the movie but guess I wasn't lucky enough that day to win the holiday trip for 2 to Phuket.. Aww. envy the lucky winners.

I would have to agree that my senses were really so so awakened that night by all the fright and scare. It was exciting! =X hahaha. but the movies ended quite late at 1.30am, and I had to attend the spanish make-up lesson in school at 9am the next day so the lack of sleep was quite a pain. Of cuz we didn't go to St James.

Yay! lots of horror movies nowadays, I'm looking forward to DARAH which is coming soon. If i'm not it's a local production, with the scene settings either in Msia or Indonesia.

The past week was so exhausting. I finished lab early at 12.30pm today then Jeff drove us to JP for lunch and arcade. Afterwhich, I decided to skip the 4.30pm lecture as I was feeling too tired, would be falling aslp in class even if I were to be physcially there, so no point.

I had only 3hrs of sleep the night before as it was already late by the time i return home from the basic culture and sign language course, and I still had to finish up lab report.

I think I haven't really mentioned before, but I've joined the Welfare Service Club as a member of RSPHI - regular service project for Hearing Impaired. We'll be attending weekly sign language lessons now till november before the regular service begins next year, which is to tutor the HI children at the HI centres.

I'm really glad to be accepted into the club after the 2nd interview. I've been interested in this since year 1 but have failed to join till now, which I reckon is the final chance for me to get involved in such school activities before I graduate.

So anyway, the pageant ppl had their full dress rehearsal in hall today before their big day on this coming saturday. Since I skipped my 4.30pm lecture, I certainly did not stayed on in hall till 8pm to watch them. Took the MRT and dropped by at Bugis to take a look at the costumes @ Masquerade. Dinner & dance's on this Saturday but I haven even prepared a suitable outfit to suit the theme :

Villains.

Hard right? Might probably end up dressing as a witch or dracula if got no other suitable ideas.

So anyway, for some last minute casting of votes:

I need some sleep very badly.

Adios~

HAPPY 21st Xiao Ting!

Just came back from Xiaoting's (pri schmate) bday party this evening. It was held at Marina Bay, The Sail. Posh residence. Damn cool lah! The function room was on the 44th level and the view was great! As it was situated in the middle of the business district, we were surrounded by tall buildings and can even see the singapore flyer from the room! A pity there was also contructions works all around the area. U know lah.. IR works etc.

Primary school classmates. =)

View from the function room. can actually see the Singapore Flyer from there. Totally cool!

The party in the spacious function room. Great buffet! FOoooD~

The party was themed Doraemon, XT's fav! But apparently, no one really dresses up in a doraemon suit or anything like it at all. Haha, I've actually wanted to dress like Yi-Jing, Doraemon's female friend but I just couldn't find any red skirt at home even though I got yellow top. So afterall, we're all clad in blue!

Last photo with the Bday gal before we leave the place. I'm sure she'll be smiling sweetly in her dreams tonight after the successful simple yet heart-warming party. Blessed. =)

My FIRST Teacher's Day present!

Went for tuition today and my cute tutee actually gave me a teacher's day present! I totally didnt see it coming. Haha! How sweet... =D

Taught 2 tuition sessions at different places before rushing down to Marina Square to meet GuanCheng, SongGuan and Peiwen to catch up before SG fly off to Taiwan next week. He'll be studying at National Taiwan University (also NTU) for 4 years.

The guys had to rush off to their other gatherings so peiwen and I had Korean food for dinner at Suntec, did some shopping before heading home.

Such a coincidence to bump into Kaixiang, Fuxiang and Jason in one night. Haven been in contact for a long long time. Shall meet up with the sec sch peeps soon.

Had been so busy for the past week that time seem to fly past. It's going to be Week 5 of the semester and mid term tests are coming up!

Over the week, I attended Korean Cultural Society's welcome tea session and signed up as member, attended the last Hall 8 dinner&dance meeting, skipped a 9.30am lecture, celebrated Candice's 21st birthday with Joa and Aud, watched Final Destination 4 and tried hard to start studying.

So far, travelling from home has been fine and I've sort of gotten used to it. Looking forward to recess week and hopefully I can discipline myself to keep up with the work. Really cant afford to get cui gpa this sem anymore.

JYJY!
