Happy Vesak Day

HAPPY VESAK DAY!!!

But a not-so-happy day for me. I'm sick again. Which means I have to stay home and get plenty of sleep on this public holiday. Had been catching flu and fever very frequently these days and I really hate it. Just wished I can become healthier. haix..

Yesterday was my last day of work at IECO. Finally! I'm jobless.. which means no more getting up bloody early in the morning to sit in front of the computer for the next 9 hours or so. No more paper cuts blah blah.. and I'll have much more time to do whatever I wanna do before Uni life begins. Anyway, the Customer Business department ordered Pizza Hut delivery for my farewell lunch. So sweet of them right... Big Thanks to All!! ^^

Hmm.. I guess the last thing I'll miss would prob be the company's daily catered lunch. I've been in there for just less than 3 months and I'm already rather sick of the food. However I'll miss the working environment there (refering to the freedom, not the snow-like aircon) and also the colleagues. I'll miss chatting with Acacia on ebuddy even when we're just one cubicle away.. gossiping about the Mr KPO King and also online spreeing! And not to forget the ghostly incidents that we thought we encountered. The email and the bandmusic remember? LOL! I'll also miss Rou Wei (the busy girl) .. even though we were assigned to work in different department, I didn't feel as lonely joining the company at the same time as her. =D

Well, guess I'll be rather free from today onwards.. so ppl!! need a company for lunch or shopping.. call me along!! (provided I don't have dates with Dear..)

Yawnz.. time for medicine...

Expo Food Fair

Today's weather is freaking warm!!!
I can literally feel sweat being excreted from every pore of my skin! Gosh...

After watching CSI Supreme Sunday (3 episodes in a row ok!), slacking and chatting on phone with ppl (regarding the selection of uni courses) for almost the whole day, I went to the Expo Food Fair with BF dearest. Being a Sunday, supposedly family day, the exhibition hall was damn damn crowded. Hmm...although I enjoyed myself pigging on the different kinds of food with dear, I still find that the Food Fair wasn't that very fantastic afterall.
But... 328 Katong Laksa - I'm Lovin it!!! ^^

Counting down - 3 more days of work and I'm free! =D

S.H.E - London Bridge is Falling Down

Whatever!

WHATEVER!!!
Hmm.. went home after work to wash up before BF Dear came to fetch me out for dinner. We drove to the KFC near Kallang stadium where I satisfy my KFC cravings which had been there for many weeks! Haha! finally.. After that went for a spin.. drove to explore Marina Bay Golf Club. The Canopy (dining cafe in the club) is a great place to relax and just chill out. It faces the entire golf course which looks big and beeeaauutiful at night with all the spot lights luminating it. There was this nice breeze blowing which added to the relaxing factor of the place. NICE! Later on we parked along the road near Cozy Bay and took a stroll along the river bay. =D a pity there wasn't much wind and the air was rather humid. Nevertheless, I had a great companion! ^^ that's all that matters! On the way home, we dropped by the petrol station to refuel his car and I decided to get something to quench my thirst. I wanted to try Anything but dear said it contains carbonated drinks so I took Whatever instead. Guess what's inside!...

It's just the normal plain Green Tea!!! Dear then educated me that Anything randomly contains carbonated drinks such as coke, sprite, 7-up etc. while Whatever randomly contains non-carbonated drinks like different flavoured tea. Hmm.. did all of u know that already? Or am i the slow one? haha.. anyway, i feel that the concept is so cool.. even the name of the registered company too - Out of the box pte ltd. haha cool cool~

Conversational Malay lesson

I attended my first lesson in Elementary Conversational Malay today!!!

Chiong-ed home after work to bathe and change then rush out to meet Candice at nearby S11 to have dinner. she's my "kway chap partner" hahaha. we even had time for dessert. ginko nuts with longan soup to boost our brain power b4 we went for the lesson. We reached the classroom just on time! Initially, we speculated that we're gonna be among the youngest in the class as we expected most of the students to be those aunties who wanna kill their time. BUT!!! We were so so wrong lah! Out of the 30+ ppl in the class, almost all are teens of our age and there're even guys too.. (just din expect guys to have interest in taking up such courses) Only a few (3-4) aunties/uncles had joined us. So anyway, Candice and I settled down into a relatively good seat. feeling excited..or at least I was really enthu bout learning a new language. ^^ We had a female teacher who's quite young. she distributed us with our lesson materials (notes lah..wad else...) and officially started the lesson. The first thing we were taught was to pronounce malay vowels correctly. We had to actually read out loud, repeating after the teacher as she say each word. I think any pri sch kids with malay lang background would be laughing like mad if he/she saw the way we read aloud. I kinda enjoy it though at the beginning feel abit shy. but then I start to realised that the whole class is in it together. all beginners learning the language from scratch. In the later part of the lesson, we were taught to construct simple sentence as well as practice on conversing. It really is tough. Feels very much like a helpless kid struggling to keep up during a primary school MT lesson. well anyway. no matter what the outcome of this course would be.. I'm glad I've taken the step to gain experience and fun from it.

Just some pics below for u ppl to take a peak into what we're learning...

FAQ: Why didn't I take up the other more popular language courses like korean/ japanese?

Well I'm equally interested in those languages but I thought I should learn Malay language before trying out others as it is more frequently used in Singapore and if learning a local language is that difficult. wouldn't it be more so for other foreign languages!

Hi ppl, I found this cool thingy which I thought was quite interesting. Hmm.. for those who didn't play /see it before too. Do use the coin to scratch the card below. Continue scratching horizontally from top to bottom of the card till the coin is taken away and something nice will appear!

Hahaha! Now you know what that something nice is refering to le? =X Ok. pardon my bhb-ness. Hmm.. I purposely chose the penny which is smaller and thus, more difficult to use.

NTU CBC Tea session

I'm so totally into NTU CBC!!!

Met Jun Han at around 7.45am at her void deck just next block to mine and we hurried to the mrt station where Eng Yong and Huishan were waiting for us. We had to travel to NTU (for the CBC tea session), right at the other far end of EW line. Lucky for us, we managed to settle down on seats. Due to the company and all the chit-chats on the train, the journey seemed to be shorter than I thought. So as the name suggests, tea was served at the reception along with some snacks. We looked around for familiar faces and noticed that the ratio of guys: girls present was almost 2:8! how "girly"! The talk by Prof Loh was very convincing and informative. It made me even more sure that NTU Chemistry & Biological Chemistry is the course for me. Call me brainwashed or whatever, but I'm just so attracted to the NTU environment + Prof Loh is just so reassuring and friendly. He even approach the 4 of us and sat down to chat over lunch (yummilicious food catered!). After the session, the gals and I went to Jurong Point..we came all the way from the east side, of course have to go in and shop! Bought myself a pair of shoes before I went to meet BF Dear in town to walk walk. =D

Attn: Friends out there who are considering btw NUS & NTU Chemistry, I'd advise u not to seek my advice because I'll most prob go on and on to blabber about how NTU is better and this might confuse the choice that you already have in mind. Wahaha!

Tired- @.@

My Virgin Post!

Out of boredom at work, I've decided to make use of my free time to do something. So here I am with my first post ever on blogger! I know this sounds rather dumb but a "computer idiot" like me find it tough to manage the blogskins, template and wadsoever. (Thanks Acacia for her guidance ^-^). Anyway, the whole purpose of this blog is to let me gain exposure into the simple IT stuffs involved. But of course it's also for friends (refering to those who bothers..) to do simple keeping up with me when life gets too busy for us to do the real talking.. well, otherwise it's for my own leisure and pleasure. I'm still figuring out how to get my the layout look right. Hopefully in time to come I'll still be updating the blog faithfully.

*Yawnx* - gonna fang gong le.. Simply love weekends!
