Presenting my new precious baby...

Yamaha YFL-271

Although it ain't Miyazawa, I'm still super contented that I'm finally able to possess my very own flute!!! This is something that I've been yearning to buy for years. Cost me $963.30, which I could have spent on another holiday trip... but I guess it's worth it lah. At least I've a defined form of leisure/ hobby now :)

Went swimming with Angeline yesterday morning. We were discussing alot about the bintan trip which we went seperately. I still couldn't understand why I ended up spending so much more even though mine was a 2D1N trip while hers was 3D2N. Even if she was to go for spa treatment, she end up spending lesser than me. Hmm, Maybe it's wiser to go through travel agency the next time.

Speaking of the weekend retreat at Bintan last Sat & Sun. I've been recuperating and heading out quite often since I return and haven got the time to blog about it yet. Anyway, it was a simple and relaxing trip. We stayed at Angsana Beach Resort and I super love their beach! The seawater was quite clear and not much fishes at the shallow waters so we were able to lay on the sand and just enjoy the gentle waves hitting the shore. The overall setting was peaceful and comfortable, and the Sun feels good. Ya, I usually hated the Sun but I can't possibly hide under the umbrella when the girls are all tanning.

The service of the resort was good but sometimes they act abit slow. I guess it's just their relaxed and slow-paced of life over there which influenced their work/ actions.

Spa treatment at Angsana was a fresh experience although it wasn't really cheap, S$146 for a 30min flower scrub + 60min oil massage. Like Jiesi says, we're paying for the experience, which was great so money's well-spent afterall.

However, food quality at the resort really sucks. Very expensive yet not tasty at all. Our best meal was at Kelong Restaurant where we had our dinner on the 1st night. The next morning we had room service for breakfast but the food is a big disappointment as usual. The mee goreng is nothing compared to Singapore's food. It's a lesson learnt, the next time we go to such beach resort again, I'll be sure to bring along tidbits for us to munch on at night over drinks. LOL!

I've uploaded photos on facebook which can be accessed at this link:

Ask whether I'll visit Bintan again? Definitely.. ^^

I've been unwell for the past 3 days with flu and sore throat.

Have been telling myself not to procrastinate, gotta tidy my room soon, but whenever I feel like packing up I'll feel real giddy. When I'm feeling slightly better, I'll have the urge to watch tv instead. Lazy pork...

So anyway, my old-time buddies and I attended my first good-friend's-wedding last Sunday, which was held at the Park Hotel in Orchard. It was my first time witnessing the solemnization ceremony of a couple but like most of my friends, we had a lot to complain about the guy who witness their marriage. He's like so not professional!
Jeffrey-the-groom was kept busy the whole while so didn't really have the chance to congratulate him in person. But still, I'm sure he noes the 8-of-us is always wishing for him the best and he'll always be the bandit that we first knew him as. :)

Last Saturday, Dear and I went for the National Day '08 preview at the floating stadium off Marina Bay.

It was my 1st time watching a national day performance there as the previous times were all at the Kallang National Stadium. The feeling of being there by the Singapore River is nice but yet I think the experience at Kallang Stadium is still better. Bigger area for performers, able to accomodate more audience, more historical values etc...

We had lunch at Marina Square. After dinner with Jas and Ade the other time, I've always wanted to bring Dear to try out the food at Waraku Pasta. Indeed, I'm satisfied with their food once again. You just gotta try their soup pasta!

I was excitedly watching out for the 2nd performance of the show, the Line Dance. This is because mummy is performing! I'm so sure I managed to spot her among the sea of dancers. I took a short video and showed it to her when we got home and she confirmed that I did pointed her out correctly. :D

Next up was the Parade with VIPs and MPs simulated. LOL!

I think that the aircraft acrobatics performance was the most interesting performance of that evening. I was this close to capturing its full formation. Damn nice!

They even drew a heart in the lovely evening sky, which was said to show our love for Singapore.

As night falls, more and more performances were displayed. However, it was getting a little boring toward the end because they're mostly very similar by using fanciful lights and musical effects. I couldn't even understand the meaning behind some of the performances anyway.

NDP'08 ended with its grand finale, not forgetting the fanciful fireworks which have not failed to disappoint me after staying through the entire show.

I've always love fireworks!

Such a pity that beautiful things don't always last forever...

Yesterday morning, I managed to wake up at 9.30am to meet Angeline for swimming at Tampines Swimming Complex.

By the time we reached there, it was already near mid-day bout 11plus and the sun was scorching hot. I applied a thick layer of sun block lotion but to no avail. I still became darker. =(
However, it's nice having a swim in the morning, beats sleeping till late in the afternoon and end up slacking and wasting the day away. We had a good swim before having lunch at Sakae Sushi.

Prices at Sakae has increased. Not only that, the portion has reduced in size. I was complaining about how flat the nigiri sushi has become. I think the chef is using lesser rice for each sushi to cut cost.

Anyway, we went to Bras Basah to look out for more flutes but didn't really managed to find what I want. We ended up at a chinese music school and found out more about the music lesson as we're interested in learning to play 古筝.

Walked around briefly at Bugis Street and by evening time, we travelled back to Tampines as Angeline had to attend her music theory lesson, while I went home for dinner.
We didn't managed to take photos cuz' we thought it wouldn't be safe to bring our cameras to the public swimming complex and leave it unattended.

Hmm, it's ok. We've got plenty of chances! She'll be entering NIE and we'll have lots of chances to meet up often in future! ^^

Woke up at 12.10pm today and realised I'm late! Supposed to meet Angeline for lunch at 12.30pm so I quickly washed up, changed and chionged to TM.

We had Swenson's for lunch and then went to Yamaha where I checked out the pricings for the different models of flute. Hope to get one real soon after I've compare prices with other brands.

I need to complain about NTU's hostel accomodation system!

Angeline and I were discussing on being roomies since Sockz will not be getting back our same room for the next sem. So I called up the hall office and ask whether it's possible for me to apply for same room as next yr's freshie or not. Then the person told me it's not possible at all because a senior can only apply as roomie with a freshman only if the freshie is the sibling !!!(in this case, my younger sis) I totally see no logical explanantions for this rule lah! Younger sibling can, friends cannot? WTH! WHY????

I'm super worried that I'll have to stay with some Miss bitchy/noisy/messy freshie next yr.
Or even worst! with AH TIONG!!! OMG!

I can only pray hard for my worries to be uncalled for...

The Zoo experience with Dear was terrific!
Last Sunday, we began our excursion by bus from Tampines to Woodlands, then from Woodlands to the Zoo. Dear was chanting on this zoo song which till now, kept on ringing in my head. LOL!!!

We're going to the zoo zoo zoo, how about you you you...

Dear was possessed by Steve Irwin...o.O

I super hate the Babirusa (pig), there's so smelly that it's no wonder that nobody's at their exhibition area at all. However, I managed to endure the smell and capture their loving moment. Hahha!

We saw the feeding of the White Tigers and the Hippos!

I think the tigers are so 可怜,they're so huge in size and yet they're resticted to such a comparatively tiny compound to move around. I'll go crazy if I were them.

We also managed to get good seats for the Asian Elephants' show...

And the Splash Animal Show... look at the cute penguins. Happy Feet!!!

We sat on the 2nd row and ended up a lil' drenched by the splashing of the seals.

I love the cute little chimpanzee clinging tightly onto its mummy's back. So TINY!

Baby peacock with mummy...

Dear & I with cute lil' pony bonsai...

It was a fun day despite the lousy food at the Zoo, missing out on my giraffe, the scorching hot sun and the rain shower towards the evening.

Last Saturday, I had my 3rd ktv session with the CBC/Latte friends...

This time, instead of singing at the usual Kbox, we tried out the 10 Dollar Family Ktv Club located at Chinatown.

I woke up late as usual and ended up meeting them directly at the ktv place itself instead of at the mrt station. Sorry... I'll try to change my late habits.. =X

Luckily Charis waited for me and we were able to find our way to the ktv.

The settings of the ktv gave Charis the feel that it's those kinda karaoke with hostess's company but it's of cuz not lah.. family ktv... er....hahaha

We're given an enormous room, supposedly to contain 12 people, but in fact I think it's capacity is bigger than that. Lots of space for us to "hop" around and have pillow fight. LOL.

The package/service is fairly good. $10 for ktv session from 2 -7 pm, small serving of tidbits, free flow of drinks and there's even Shark's Fin soup for each person. Fake shark's fin lah. Duh..

I still prefer KBox's sound system, but 10DollarKTV uses cordless microphones which is better and more convenient when it comes to passing the mic around.

The roses among the thorns... =X

Dinner's at Chinatown hawker street which was just right below the ktv lounge. We ordered a variety to share. Overall, food's not THAT fantastic, just normal standard but abit pricey though.. hmm.. tourist attraction.

After dinner, we walked all the way to Boat Quay and ended up drinking + chit-chating + playing games by the Singapore River.

They claimed that I look like a beer promoter. Haha! -.-
