It's a cold cold day today and it had been raining almost continuously here at Tampines.

Went over to Tampines Mall with mummy to buy some stuffs before having dinner with the family at Din Tai Fung. It's such a coincidence that I chanced upon Jiesi and Justin who were queuing up too. I finally saw her after almost a month.

There was a firework display tonight by Korea. Didn't have any plans to watch it with friends or so as I really wanted to spend some time with my family after being so busy with hall activities for the past whole week.

Dinner and Dance is coming exactly 1 week later and I'm getting rather worried of the tight schedule which we're faced with. Another modelling session, gown-fitting session and several dance trainings for the contestants to go. Please let it all go well. Just another one more week and all of us would regain our freedom! LOL!!!

Hmm, I'm still down with cough. Had already seen doctor in school and taken MC for yesterday night's band practice as I'd have difficulty blowing flute and coughing the same time. Hopefully I'll get entirely well soon within this week. Not sure if I'll have to skip next week's band practice also due to the full dress rehearsal for DnD.

难得 4B is having a class gathering, but because the BBQ will clash with DnD night, I'll have to give it a miss. Damn sad! Can't get to see all the 老朋友! Moreover, the 8ofus will be having dinner on the day after DnD too, I just hope that I'd be able to attend it. =S

Oh well... I've just updated DnD's blog again...

This week's timetable had been rather slack so far. I've officially arranged a 4-day week timetable!!! Muahahaha!

As this is the 1st week after the add/drop period, things are only just beginning to fall into place. I've added a prescribed elective which I haven't attend the 1st 2 lectures before. Tml will be the 1st time.. hopefully it's not too tough to follow.

Past few days were quite normal. It was lessons, lunch, lessons, dinner, pageant trainings, wash-up, do work, sleep almost everyday. Today, we were supposed to bring the contestants down to SHINE model agency at Dohby Ghaut. I could have been free since Wednesday is my off-day, yet I had to go back to lab to finish up last friday's Chemistry experiment. So I didn't manage to accompany them for the session.

There was ice-cream for Hall supper just now and a few performances by the hall's Sing & Strum members, as well as recruitment for Hall 8 Cheerleading Team. I've just finished shower not long ago, gonna find some food then start work le.

Tml is NTU's Union Day, so lesson b4 2.30pm will be cancelled. Will be meeting friends for lunch before our language classes. Oh yah... Korean level 2 is really complicated... =S

But I will persevere... ^^

I attended the 1st lab session for the Yr 2 Chemistry lab module yesterday morning.

I woke up late and ended up rushing to lab without taking breakfast. Lab session was held at the new CBC building and each of us were assigned to an individual fume cupboard for individual experiment.

Having lost touch with lab expt for near to 4 months, I was totally blur and did not know what to do for a start. It was only slowly and eventually that I picked up pace and started the experiment. There were 5 different experiment such that the person beside me is doing a different one from me. So it's very difficult for us to discuss about the steps to take. My experiment was to synthsize the compound, paracetamol.

Lab session was from 9.30am to 3.30pm. We were allowed to take small breaks whenever required so it's sort of own time own target within that 6 hours. However, everytime a grp of friends asked me along for lunch, I'd be busily correcting some mistakes and in the end, I actually survived without food till after 3.30pm. I was amazed by myself for being able to do so without fainting spells! LOL.

I'm not sure whether photo-taking is allowed in the lab, but yea..

Just a peek into the scene at the lab...

Went back to hall for a power nap at around 5pm plus as my body battery was really dying. Got to realise only later that I was actually down with fever. I skipped dinner but fortunately, my hall mates are nice enough to buy me sandwich to fill my stomach before I went for NIE band practice.

It was the 1st time attending the band session there and I felt really nervous due to the unfamiliarity. There were many other flute players, YET I was the only flautist taking the band module as an elective. All others are regulars, meaning graduates, JC/poly players and even professor who is currently conductor for school bands. Naturally, I felt even more nervous and worried.

During the combined band session, we played 5 out of the 10 repertoire pieces and unfortunately, it was my very first time hearing and playing all of them. I was totally lost and couldnt catch up. There were lots of running notes and most were fast pieces. I could say that almost 80% of the time I was just faking through. I'm so sure the baritone player beside me could see me through! So embarrassing!

After the practice, Prof Ho asked whether all the students taking it as our general elective whether we are positive about our choice and I guess I've already got an answer. Although it's tough, but I just feel like playing in the band again. I voiced out my concern to Prof Ho, that I felt very stressed about being unfamiliar with all the pieces, but being the kind of nice old man, he consoled me not to worry as the other flautists have already played those pieces many times before tt's why they're familiar with it, and said that I just needed more practice.

I'll definitely be practising hard for the assessment at the end of the year, but pray hard that I won't be given a lousy grade which will drag my GPA down... =S

Anyway, we've updated the blog for our Hall 8 Dinner & Dance'08 Pageant activities. Do take a look if you're interested to find out who the contestants are: http://www.hall8dnd0708.blogspot.com/

I'm now back at home le..

Gonna have a proper dinner now! Mum's cooking! =D

It's nearing 2am and I'm still reading up on the instructions in my lab manual to prepare for a 6hrs-long lab session tml! or rather.. later at 9.30am!

It's been the 2nd week of school yet I'm still abit blur about school work, mostly cuz the electives which I'd be taking is sort of not yet confirmed and worst of all, I left my Year 1 Chemistry notes at home. I couldn't do my tutorials properly because I need references for the knowledge which I had happily thrown aside during the 3 mths holiday. I need to settle things down by next week. Afterall, I'm quite sure and afraid I wont be getting the electives that I want to take le. =(

I attended my 1st 한국어 Level 2 tutorial today. It was a different tutor teaching this time round and gosh! her accents are really different from Agnes 선생님. As usual, she asked each of us a question after she called out our name during attendance-taking. I was momentarily stunned because I couldn't catch her words or rather her accent. The way she speaks is like so naturally, as if chatting with her friends. I know we're supposed to learn it that way, but it's just that we are used to listening to clearly-pronounced words in level 1.

Well, in any case, I've made my choice to take the elective and so I shall work harder and practice speaking more often. Hopefully, I wont do badly for the exams.

Hmm, lots of things had taken place throughout the week. There were trainings for the contestants everyday. I'm glad that tml(Fri) will be a rest day for us. I'll be attending my 1st band practice in NIE band. Kinda anxious + look-forward + lost + excited... aiya it's all kinds of mixed feelings lah. Just hope that I'll meet nice ppl and make friends over there.
Angeline had also officially moved into Hall 8. although we din make it to becoming roomies, but still it's nice that we're staying so close and can meet up for meals more often now. She's staying just 2 levels above me in my block. And and! I've got a nice roomie. =D

There's an official blogsite for Hall 8's D&D which we'll be done updating soon. So in future, I'll do most blogging about the pageant trainings over there. Nothing special for now. =)

The past few weeks had been eventful. Lots of ups and downs and I'm almost mentally, emotionally and physically drained.

The Hall 8 FOC was fantastic and I'm glad that I took part as a programmer, though being a slack one. =) I managed to know many more eighters whom I had been seeing them around in hall, but just didn't have the chance to interact with them or even remember their names.

Following was the start of 1st week of school. It could have been a relaxed week for my timetable, as there wasn't any tutorials or lab session on the 1st week of school, which means that I could have gone home on wednesday afternoon but yet, I couldn't. Pageant trainings have begun for the contestants this year and being one of the Pageant Coordinators, I had to be around for them.

I went for the NIE band audition on Thursday evening and it was quite a nerve-wrecking experience. I know, I've been playing in band for like 6yrs? But afterall, there'd been a 2 yrs break in between from now naturally I'm afraid that I wouldn't be on-form. It was a 1 to 1 audition by the band conductor himself, and he constantly stressed that the repertoire pieces which we'll be playing is very difficult. This scares me alot lah! Afterall, I'm taking Band as an elective, which means a graded module! I certainly hope I wouldnt get a grade which would drag my GPA down. =S

So anyway, I was asked to play a piece which he randomly selects on the spot and gosh! My sight-reading sucks! But I got through the audition however. He said that my tone is good, just that I need to practice on rythmn. Band practices are going to commence on August 15th, which means I'll most probably be going home only on Saturdays the whole of this sem.

We're going into the 2nd week of school now and I know I better START to be aware of what's happening during lessons. I know I'm gonna be damn busy with pageant trainings lining up almost everyday. It's kinda like Dejavu, as if I'm the contestant like last year. But then, no, I'm just their "nanny" for now. =D

Yesterday was photoshoot at Clark Quay!

We brought them to Far East Plaze for clothes fitting at STAGE (Luo Zi Xiang's brand) before heading down to Clark Quay at noon for the photoshoot.

It rained heavily before so by the time we reached Clark Quay, the weather was really good.
Not too sunny, just nice and warm. But not very good for the photographers though, they kept complaining about the lack of light, not bright enough etc. Haha. Yada yada, as long as I wont get tanned any further then it's good.. to me...

We settled down at some tables in front of Clinic as they were still not opened for the day.

The contestants had their change of clothes, make-up and hair styled before the shoot begins.
I took quite alot of "back-stage" photos and these are just some of them...

The cutest couple...

We seniors had fun trigger-happying while they had theirs too...

Photo of the Day! So nice!

I'd to go prepare now. Will be bringing them to Gary's dance studio for dance lessons in the evening before going back to hall. Shall update again soon when I have the time. Cheers`
